Festive Indian Outfit by Bhumika Sharma

Today's post is a little different from my usual posts because I decided to feature this gorgeous Indian outfit by Bhumika Sharma. I wanted to wear in Indian outfit for this post for two reasons. The first reason being that Diwali is this Sunday (Diwali is the festival of light and signifies the victory of good over evil and is one of the biggest Indian festivals of the year). The second reason is that wedding season in India is in full swing so I thought this would be a good example of an outfit that can be worn if you are a guest at a wedding.

I think this outfit would be great for either Diwali or an Indian wedding because it's so comfortable and easy to wear. Now, if you're Indian, you know that Diwali functions and Indian weddings call for lots of dancing and this outfit is perfect for that. It's so flowy, lightweight, and easy to manage that you won't have any trouble dancing the night away in it. Some traditional Indian outfits can be heavy and wearing them for long periods of time can be a full-on cardio session. It's also hard to find intricate and elegant details in an outfit that's more on the lighter side. However, the outfit I'm wearing in this post is not only lightweight but also features absolutely breathtaking embroidery that really ups the glam factor of the overall look without compromising comfort.

I wore this outfit in two ways. In one look, I paired it with a tikka, which is an Indian headpiece, and in the other look, I decided to wear it without the tikka, to show how it can be worn in a more casual way as well. The versatility of this outfit is yet another reason why I love it so much.

I ordered this outfit and the tikka from Pernia's Pop-Up Shop which is an online fashion store (based in Mumbai, India) that offers a hugeeee variety of Indian outfits and accessories made by top designers in India. I highly recommend that you check it out if you're looking for an Indian outfit to wear for any occasion!

Happy Diwali to all who celebrate!

Ciao!

Styling the Slip Dress

Slip dresses are really trendy right now and I love to see the different ways in which you can style them so I figured I would give my take on it. I will admit that wearing a slip dress alone is not my style so I decided to throw on a sweater in order to make the look more suited to my taste.

I really like the contrast between the satin slip dress and the chunky knit sweater because it's an unexpected combination of textures and adds a nice dimension to the whole look. If you want the slip dress to take center stage then you could wear a long cardigan so that more of the dress is visible. I think this look is great for fall and really lets you incorporate slip dresses into your wardrobe without feeling like you're stepping out in your night dress.

Ciao!

How To Wear White After Labor Day

I've always found the whole concept of not wearing white after Labor Day to be so outdated. I personally love to wear white throughout the fall and winter and I've noticed that more and more people are also ignoring the rule of not wearing white after Labor Day.

In today's post, I decided to pair these white jeans with a cream sweater and tan accessories. I chose tan accessories in order to break up the whiteness of the jeans and sweater.
